Description: 1. A ‘film fire’ was organised by the explosives inspector on the Gärdet plain in Stockholm to demonstrate how readily flammable film is. 2. The Heimdall has now been salvaged from the shallows and can soon be towed to the shipyard for repairs. - Six pumps were needed to empty the underwater floats. - The bridge sees the light of day once more. 3. Locomotive exhibition The Railway Museum has opened an interesting exhibition on old Swedish locomotives. - Some pieces of the oldest locomotive, Förstlingen. - Fryckstad, a well-preserved veteran. - In the olden days, a driver’s cabin was an unknown luxury. - And here we have a pair of modern giants: - The Ljungströms steam turbine locomotive and an F-type locomotive. 4. Something for the ladies The autumn fashions have been shown at P.U.B., and we are delighted to see the waist back in its rightful place. - This year’s coats are richly furred. - Fur retains its popularity. - The hats are often original.
